Theatre Tour

Learning objectives:

1) Students will gain increased familiarity with Shakespeare’s plays and understand the social and political conditions under which Elizabethan actors worked to perform them.

2) Students will explore London in depth and witness its development from its Roman foundations to its 19th century role as the heart of an empire.

3) Students will learn firsthand exactly what it takes to become a professional actor in the modern era during a question and answer session with those actors working in a professional West End production at the time of their visit.

4) The need for strength, determination and resilience will be strongly impressed upon the students at a workshop with a top LAMDA actor, where they will be able to hone on-stage combat skills in a unique setting.

5) Receiving unrivalled access to the National Theatres as well as the Globe theatre will allow the students to better appreciate the vast differences in acting and scenery styles in the UK at this point in time.
